It's so nice to be able to pass along some great news about the real estate market in the Raleigh/Cary area. Our team had a client in town last week, an investor who had come all the way from New Zealand to look for homes to buy to add to his real estate portfolio. After being shown around Raleigh, Cary and surrounding areas, he was enthusiastic about the strong Triangle real estate market. He felt the combination of low interest rates and high inventory of attractive homes made it a super time to invest in the Triangle. Two years ago this same investor had bought properties which are currently being rented for him and returning a positive cash flow. This year he ended up buying five properties in five days.
Before his purchases, we both sat down with our property manager to discuss various options and rent levels. All five of this investor's properties will go to settlement at the end of October. In the meantime, he is excited about balancing out his investment portfolio with properties in the Triangle, where historically, they will hold their value and in all probability, appreciate.

The first quarter of 2007 has been extremely strong; in fact, it has been the busiest three months for business since I joined the real estate profession in 1984! It has helped tremendously that our state and Triangle area are #1 on many lists of best places to live, work and play. Since we never saw double digit appreciation, we never went through the "bubble" occurring in much of the nation. Our market has continued to steadily appreciate and predictions for the future are extremely bright.
